Martin Solas is one of the four magi who serve as the priests of Ma'at. He specifically belongs to the priest caste within the order to which he belongs. He works with a partner, Thomas Hart, and together they strive to bring balance to any place lacking it.

Description

A confident aire and a purposeful stride help pick Martin out in a crowd. He stands at 5'8", totes a slender build and is always completely bald. When working on a mission directly for Ma'at, a gold stripe is painted along the center of his head, from his forehead over the top and down to the base of his skull. The stripe is bordered by a much darker brown. Overall the painting spans about 3 1/2 inches at it's widest point, and tapers slightly at the start and end points. The most captivating feature of Martin's is his eyes, which are a brilliant, yet light blue. Many describe them as looking into deep crystal waters.

Background

Martin Solas was born in Athens, Greece to Samuel and Ananda Solas. Martin's childhood was relatively unremarkable. He was raised with all the morals his parents could instill, supplemented with teachings of Ma'at from his mother. She believed that following Ma'at was as important today as it had been in ancient times, and her Egyptian ancestry helped reinforce her beliefs.

Paradigm

Martin is one of the 4 Priests of Ma'at. He belongs specifically to the priest caste within the order. He believes steadfastly in that of reincarnation and of Balance of the universe. As a Priest of Ma'at, he works to preserve that balance by whatever means are needed, so long as they do not violate the existing Admonitions of Ma'at. To Martin, Ma'at represents the binding glue of the universe, and a direct means to attaining Unification and returning to the One. He also believes that as the other Gods of Egyptian Lore defer to Ma'at, that she herself may be the embodiment of the One.

Ritual Purity must be maintained if a Priest is to properly carry out the will of Ma'at, and to maintain Her ideals. Without purity, one cannot properly seek Truth, nor can they maintain Balance, or Judge properly. Without Purity, chaos will reign. Martin must adhere to the modified Admonitions of Ma'at (The list has been modified to allow the chosen to carry out their duties) to maintain ritual purity. If ritual purity is broken, the purity ritual must be performed. This ritual includes fasting from dusk until the hour before dawn, a series of prayers, followed by a bath with sacred oils. Until this purity ritual is performed, a priest of Ma'at is unable to call upon their magick.
