Description
Jocelyn Walker is usually dressed in black attire paired with one or two items of another color, depending on her mood. She has black hair that extends past her hips and keeps it in a variety of styles. Her eyes are light blue and are almost always surrounded by thick black eyeliner. She walks with a quick pace and holds herself in a slightly regal manner. Never one to be outdone, she likes to have the newest fashions (in black, of course) and appear at the latest hot spots.
Background
She was born on August 1st, 1982 to Meredith Walker in Barwick-in-Elmet, Yorkshire, England. When Jocelyn was three, her mother took a higher-paying secretarial job at Citifinancial in the nearby city of Leeds. Meredith met Frank Rivera, a wealthy Bostonian financier through her company two years later, and they married in 1989. Frank always made sure Jocelyn got to try many activities, including swimming, tennis, vocal training, and falconry. It was the latter two that resounded with Jocelyn and introduced her to the allure and history of mediaeval and Victorian-era England. Throughout her childhood, she was able to travel with her family to Boston and New York City many times for her father's business trips. When she graduated from the University of Leeds in 2006, she took her bachelor's in psychology and left for Boston to live and experience life in the US.
Paradigm
As she has good friends who belong to Traditions, she is slightly more inclined to believe there may be some faint light of hope for humanity than most Hollows. However, she feels that the human psyche is largely responsible for the sad state of affairs in the world. While she can appreciate the Traditions for trying to find a way to Mass Ascension, she feels that it must be each individual finding what works for them in their own minds, not a single method. However, until she feels a rallying cry or proof of the "Mage Rapture", she's content with exploring, and exploiting, what she can.
Commonly Used Rotes
- This Body Holding Me (Mind •, Life ••)
By singing or humming the line "feeling eternal, all this pain is an illusion" from Tool's "Parabola", she believes it to be true until it fades away.
- Paranoia (Mind •• or •••, Entropy •)
She attempts to seek out the least confident member of an opposing group and places either suggestions or illusions of doubt and betrayal in their mind.
- Synaesthete (Mind •••, Forces ••, Life •••)
She changes people's perceptions, changing their perceptions of sounds into colors, temperature changes, or tactile sensations.
- Secrets Don't Make Friends (Forces ••)
She uses this to direct the sounds of a quiet conversation towards her so she can hear.
- And the Dead Shall Walk Amongst You (Mind •••, Spirit ••, Forces •, Life •)
She opens the person's mind to hear the whisperings of nearby spirits and causes their sight to see only the skeletons of other people around. She uses forces to make the air a little colder around the person.
